"Wellington's Maori Heritage"
This 2 hour walk was led by Tupara, a knowledgable and engaging young guide. He observed tikanga at the beginning and end of the walk, and was open to questions throughout. He outlined his own tribal affiliation, and shared both traditional oral history and known events in relation to the settlement of Te Whanganui a Tara. All of us in the group learned a lot during the time we spent on the walk, and the whole experience was enjoyable, interesting and stimulating.

"Ka mau te wehi (Awesome)"
Brilliant experience. It was too cold and wet for us to be able to take the waka out. That didn't matter though, as the practice session inside was awesome. The team at Te Wharewaka o Poneke were so friendly, welcoming and patient, with so much knowledge. Awesome experience.

"Very impressive"
I am amazed, impressed and immensely grateful for the opportunity to experience this guided tour. The pre-colonial history of Wellington was brought vividly to life by our guide who made it interesting and informative, without overwhelming us with detail. He told a story which held us effortlessly, and will be remembered for years to come.
