In 2014, Te Wharewaka o Poneke Enterprises Limited identified an opportunity to enter the tourism and education sectors by providing a unique cultural experience on the Wellington waterfront through Waka Tours, Walking Tours and Cultural Engagement.

Tours, conducted by Te Wharewaka o Pōneke Tours are offered to a variety of groups: Corporate, Business, Education, Tourists and other individuals.  Tour packages are delivered by trained and professional guides. These are considered to be a low-moderate risk activity however the potential for harm or damage to people and equipment still exists and therefore risk management, health and safety, and compliance is considered a top priority. 

All ou guides and vessels comply with all relevant rules, regulations and guidelines both regionally and nationally and our waka has a current Commercial Vessel License issued by the Wellington Harbourmaster
